A SERMON BY PASTOR ENO MAKIA. PERSEVERANCE. We thank God for allowing us to crossover into this new month of March. We ask Him to comfort those who could not make it. We thank Him for another assembly and for giving us the first of our March Sermon series; PERSEVERANCE. We hope our February series was a blessing to you and your family. If you missed it, you can just scroll down until you get to 2014 events. As usual, I will ask that you open your bibles and lets see a few verses where the Lord spoke about our topic. JAMES 1:12, Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him. ROMANS 5:3-5, We also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that sufferings produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us. because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the holy spirit whom He has given us. Finally, PSALMS 27:14 , Be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. As some of you know, I was rushed to HOUSTON NORTH WEST HOSPITAL last Tuesday night because my blood pressure reading was 207/135. I was already having symptoms of a stroke and heart attack. It took almost eight hours to get my blood level down to normal. An African American male nurse when he heard me praying had his hand on MY shoulder and said this to me; because you KNOW HIM, HE WILL HEAL YOU. When my blood pressure came down to normal, the doctor announced that they keep me in the INTENSIVE CARE UNIT to monitor my heart rate and as a precaution to make sure my blood does not go up again. I had a double bypass open heart surgery in 2006 at this same hospital. I am an 8 year survivor. It was while I was laying on the bed at the ICU that I started sending you my progress on FB. You see at the ER I kept praising God with all those tubes and IV on me. I did not feel sorry for myself. I hung in there believing that GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS. I PERSEVERED. This is my second day at home and I am still here because GOD just wont let go of me. Some of you may have been passed over for promotion at your job and the one you trained came back to be your boss, yet you have persevered and held on believing that GOD will do what is best for you. You were about to walk away from your marriage or relationships but then you decide to make some sacrifices and persevered and today you are still together. They laughed at you when you started that business or ministry but you persevered believing that it is not about the numbers but the fact that you make an impact on one or two people. My brothers and sisters I have authority to tell you that GOD IS ABLE because I am a witness and a beneficiary of his divine favor. Your perseverance in whatever you are facing is not in vain. GOD knows about it and HE will show up for you. Learn to be patient and contented. Learn to hold on to your faith and still trusting GOD. Remember that GOD is not always give us what we want but He will give us what we need and He will only do that which is best for us. Micheal Jordan persevered as he practiced shooting those free throws. Samuel Eto persevered as he tried to proved himself that he is one of the best. We know of many other people who persevered when the world gave up on them. They did not give up. Just because I was laying on that hospital bed with all those tubes was not a reason for me not to open my mouth and praise Jesus. The devil first laughed at me when he said now you cant reach your friends because you dont have your laptop, but then GOD placed my SMART PHONE in MY HAND. Praise Him in the midst of your suffering. Praise Him when He brings you out an d above all praise while you are persevering. It will all work out in your favor. In closing, I thank GOD for giving me another chance to be with you all. Some one else could have been bringing you this message but He wont let go of me. God willing I will bring you the next message of our sermon series titiled THANKS GIVING, and until then this is PE saying so long and have a great weekend and a blessed week. PERSEVERE.
