A SIGNIFICANT development is expected in the sale of one of Cork - TopicsExpress

A SIGNIFICANT development is expected in the sale of one of Cork citys landmark buildings, report Cork Daily Post, exclusive on Facebook. The Crosbie owned 97 South Mall has been on the market for around three years and, there was no bid, close to the required multi million euro sought. But, there has been major progress and, particularly in the light of Cork City buying the nearby, former Savings Bank. The Crosbie Building, opening also onto Grand Parade, was designed by well known, mid 1800s, architect, William George Murray. It opened as the Provincial Bank in 1865, later operating as the Munster and, Leinster and, was purchased by the Crosbies some years ago, as it closed as AIB. It has been magnificently restored, south facing, overlooking the Lee and, City Hall and, many felt that a possible joint development of the property by the family and, independent owner, under Crosbie House flag, would be a magnificent tribute to, probably, Irelands longest operating media family. Investment by the family business in the three floor property is said to represent around, €10 million and, is now a great treasure for the city.
