A SPEAKER IS BORN Celebrating HENRY UKAZU Lawyer. Speaker. Motivator. Entrepreneur. Henry Uzaku of New York, New York, is my Executive Assistant at The Global Institute For Human Excellence. Last week, he made a presentation at the New York Business Consultants Entrepreneurship Summit Lecture. He spoke on: The role of social entrepreneurship as a micro solution to sustainable growth. In a brilliant exposition in which he held his audience spellbound for an hour, Henry, among other scintillating theories, postulated that social entrepreneurs develop innovative and effective solutions to social problems, develop and generate outside support and resources for business ideas, pioneer ideas and proposals that makes major difference when implemented, and have traits of transparency, social integrity and financial accountability. He went further to authoritatively declare that social enterprises are business-orientated with social goals and social ownership, and that the primary aim of social enterprise is not making money, but the achievement of its economic and social objectives. Henry rounded up his cerebral excursion by giving five tips for succeeding as an entrepreneur: • Never be complacent as an entrepreneur, it’s a bit too risky to do that. • You can’t be everything to everybody, stick to your brand • You can have everything and anything you want if you are determined, passionate and talked to people who have achieved it and this is only possible if you follow your passion • As an entrepreneur there’s always a challenge, you have to know the difference between a challenge and victory • The only way to fail is by quitting. I celebrate the cerebral coming of age of my Executive Assistant. Henry has proved himself to have a rare gift of the garb by this absolutely amazing outing in the presence of seasoned resource persons. His presentation was not only lucid to the point of uncommon brilliance, it drew immediate attention to both his total grasp of his subject matter, and his sheer mastery of the functional language with which to convey his seminal message. Please join me in not only congratulating Henry Ukazu for this superlative performance, but in also wishing him even speedier accomplishment in all areas of his life. DR.
