A SPECIAL EVENT WITH LEADING FILM FIGURES: On Thursday 20th November, Oscar-winning visual effects supervisor Paul Franklin and BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) senior examiner Craig Lapper will be guest interviewees at Soundstage, a new London-based film and arts event. soundstageevents.co.uk Paul won an Oscar and a BAFTA for effects on Inception. Through the company he cofounded, Double Negative, one of the world’s leading visual effects companies, he supervised the amazing effects for Christopher Nolan’s eagerly-awaited Interstellar and The Dark Knight trilogy, as well as Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and the James Bond film Die Another Day. Double Negative created visual effects for Godzilla, Man of Steel, Iron Man 2 and Shaun of the Dead, among a wealth of other blockbusters. At the BBFC, Craig Lapper is partly responsible for the national classification and censorship of films within the UK. It has a statutory requirement to classify cinema releases, DVDs and some video games. Craig’s interview will provide a fascinating insight into the organisation’s work and practices.
