A STRONG UNION GOVT, AT THE CENTER: We have adopted federalism with a strong Union in our constituon. The idea of a strong union Govt. at the centre is fast eroding as the regional parties in different states of India are making steady growth & progress. The union is no longer as strong as the framer of the constitution envisaged at the time of drafting of Constitution of India. (1)Does the growth and success of regional parties in almost all states of India , have weaken the Union Govt.? (2) Are the issues relating to defence, foreign relation, trade and commerce etc. affected by the growth and success of Regional parties. ? (3) Whether it is a welcome step or not?
