A Sabbath Plea To live and love for one more day This, My Lord, I solemnly pray Save me from the earthly scorn Thats been here since the day I was born Do not leave me in dire straits I yield myself up to the fates I would play my song for You If thats what You would have me do Let me write some modern Psalms I hope they dont give You any qualms They are meant to worship and praise Thus shall I live out my days Ten more minutes or ten more years Help me to forget my tears No one lives that deserves honor I am just a lowly goner The works of Your hands are worthy of Love Look down on us from up above And lead us toward Your righteous paths Wash us in Your holy baths Let us know our proper place Bless us with Your holy grace For we are children at Your feet Make our meager prospects meet The wicked choose to not believe Tis only themselves that they deceive Save us from their staunch oppression Theirs is but a weak obsession Uphold the upright in Your eyes Help us speak words to the wise And this, my Lord, I humbly pray In Your presence might I stay
