A Samoan living in New Zealand came to see me and said why our Catholic schools are not following the New Zealand system. He went on and on about how great NZ schools are, so quickly went online and printed this article and gave it to him. The issues faced in Samoa is a global one and whatever the remedy it has to be localized to suit our situation and our problems. Then I said to him the same thing I have said to the Marist Old Boys, SMOGA, etc, Are you willing to come and help us solve our problems? I get so many complaints that our school was never like this back then, yet when I ask look youre an accountant, a lawyer, a doctor, a former Manu, ran 200m, threw discus or whatever the field, can you spare some time and help us for free (as I have no money to pay you)? Sadly maybe 1 or 2 out of 10 will say yes. So yes I have so many problems in my field of work and there are so many for Samoa, but to say NZ is better......Hmmm let me get back to you.
