A Single Engine Air Tanker (SEAT) base has been set up at the Roseburg Airport. The Roseburg Airport was selected because it is centrally located in the Southern Oregon Area. The SEATs can deliver 800 gallons of fire retardant or water onto fires and are very effective during the initial attack phase of fires. There are currently two SEATs assigned to the base, and they have been working on the Dexter Fire in Lane County this afternoon.
