A Small Dogs first experience in SNOW. Ahhh winter. Snow on the ground in Conesus this morning. Not much, but enough to cover the cars and rooftops. Green grass still poking through though, so not bad and its been a few years since Ive seen the white stuff. Not so for my little Florida hot house plant. This is a new experience for my Florida rescue and one hed sooner pass on I think. After checking in with Florida this morning Keeper is sitting by the door to OUT looking hopeful so I bundle up, he is bundled up and out we go. As he tip-toes delicately on the frozen grass, it is written all over his face - what the??? I continue down the sloping lawn to the field and his (formerly) favorite spots to do serious work. Before I realize he is not with me. I turn and spot him running and spinning in circles on the snowy grass trying to outdistance the icy grip that has captured his paws. He finally traverses the lawn, slides across the icy sidewalk at the house, manages a precarious slick assent of two steps up before slamming into the storm door nearly knocking himself unconcious in the process. Oh dear I think. This does not bode well for the coming months. To be continued.....
