A South Bend police officer is in trouble after allegations he was involved in a traffic collision on duty. The citys Board of Public Safety held a hearing today to discuss the accident which took place last December. Detective Sergeant John Hall was driving his squad car when he hit a pole in the Save-A-Lot parking area off Western Ave. He reported the incident a few weeks later on New Years Eve.
