A TALES Of SELF-ACCLAIMED GIANT. Nigeria as a country can be termed as a Tales of Self-acclaimed Giant of Africa. Besides population as as natural endowment which connotes the attributes of giant, Nigeria exhibits all doctrine of retrogression of most indice and indicator of acceptable traits and measures of continental giant in all ramifications. Let evaluate the major indice; SECURITY. our external relation to Africa security has been quite commending but the overriding effect has been our major woes in tacklling insurgencies. Does it make senses to us to lead peace keeping force across African countries to the detriment of our territory? What have been our major goals in embarking on those peace missions? Does beneficial countries reciprocates gestures? Are we really the giant or the host of country we have help to win the rebels? Are we operating an accursed society? The lamentable questions is immeasurable. ECONOMY. Our economic status is best on paper but in reality, we are ranked the poorest country in the according global indice. Poverty, corruption and unemployment have become our coat of arm, national anthem and pledge. Our leadership style, behavioural pattern, impunity recently assume a global dimensions on unethica scale. These odds have placed us far below giant of Black race. GOVERNANCE. Democracy is defined in Nigeria as the Government of selected few, by the selected few and for the selected few with high senses of loyalty to the master. Our assumed rulers engaged in animalistic tendencies where caste and cabals reap the dividends of loyalty to the detriment of generality and bulk of majorities uphold wishful thinking and self actualization. Does this few feature connote with been a giant?. MUTUAL CONCEPT. Favouritism, nepotism, kill him syndrome, regionalism, religious divides on the part of our society erode our ethics, moral fibre, diplomacy, values, ideals, unity of purpose and spirit of brotherhood. Our assumed rulers key behind these ills to shortchange us, brainwash us, kill us, remote us, use and dump us and build thier empire where professionalism is replaced with loyalty, where graduate becomes automotic enemies of government after our one year of merritorious service to a country who charge large sum of monies as tuition fees from student, where killing of lives have become a countdown and system of life, where there is no usefulness on the part of election losers as they become useless even with his intelects, where political office holder assumed all the attribute of God that need to be worship despite their monumental failures, where monies and power become twin enemies of progress, where family become enemies in realizing political ideologies, where earthly love, material acquisition, beauty are worshipped more than God, where learned become myopic in critical thinking on national issues. Does this make us giant?. TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER. Our daily life have been eroded with centrism where indeginous science and technology transfer is a second fiddle. A case was report of two estates constructed in which water is the only resources used from Nigeria and all other variables are foreign. The more we believe in exotic thing the more we lack technical know-how to move yhe country forward. This attitude is the main reason the western world see us as people with low IQ. Does a country claim to be giant without technology? The analogy is unquantifiable but our assumed rulers will write exams, marked it, score it and present the score card as best that have ever happened to Nigeria. This will made to ask this questions Who are really Nigerian? Are we progressing or retrogressing as a country? Are we really the Giant of Africa or Giant of Joke? Are we operating a vibrant society or accursed society? Where do we get it wrong? Can we rebirth our country? The journey to our promise land start with your golden finger, you either make or mar your future. CONCERNED CITIZEN
