A TRIBUTE TO GEORGE CORBIN The Wisner-Gilbert High School Alumni - TopicsExpress

A TRIBUTE TO GEORGE CORBIN The Wisner-Gilbert High School Alumni Association family mourns the loss of former coach and teacher, George Corbin. The officers, staff and members would like to send their deepest sympathies and heartfelt prayers to the entire Corbin’s family. What a selfless, caring, loving, and humble person George Corbin was, and this was the kind of legacy that he led, that to me personally, meant so much as a child living in Gilbert, Louisiana. It was his EXAMPLE, that he lived EVERY SINGLE DAY. George did not just Talk the Talk, He Walked the Walk with tremendous authenticity, sincerity, and genuineness, which is very rarely seen at any level of an educator/coach today. With George, One never had to second-guess themselves of any kind of ulterior motive that he had when he was dealing with people. That was NEVER a part of his persona and makeup. Instead, he brought a breath of fresh air to everyone that passed his way. “You can tell a lot about a person about how he treats others that cannot do anything to or for him.” Mr. Corbin backed this up daily, with his servant leadership, attitude of gratitude, and humility in dealing with people from all walks of life. I can say that if it had not been for George Corbin, I would not be where I am today as a Man, Educator, Father, Military Officer, Minister and Servant Leader. Thank you SIR for everything you have done for me and so many others, for leaving this world a better place than you had found it. You were truly a remarkable human being, a visionary, and leader by example. I love and will miss you dearly! May You Rest in Peace in Eternal Life With Our Lord, Jesus Christ. On behalf of the Wisner-Gilbert High School Alumni Association, our prayers are with the Corbin’s Family. God Bless You, DONALD R. DAVIS, President, Wisner-Gilbert High School Alumni Association
