A TRUE LIFE STORY. Ogbenyealu is from one of the towns in this state. Her parents died mysteriously in a car accident in 2004.Her only sister died a year later in a minor malaria sickness. Since there was no body in their house left with Ogbonyealu, she was taken to Enugu to stay with one family as a house help in 2006. She was just 10years and was in primary 4 then. When she got to Enugu, her madam refused to let her go to school because of too much work and she was the only one staying in the shop for her madam. Later, she was sent to continue where she stopped before her parents kicked the bucket. Her madam had 6 grownup girls without a male child. Her mother-in–law has refused to allow her enter her husband’s house in the village. To have her peace she dare not make a mistake of going home to their village not even for an August meeting. she in turn forbids her husband from going to his village because each time the man visits his old mother in the village he comes back a changed person filled with anger because his mother had vowed never to let the both of them rest unless her son accepts to marry a second wife who would give her a male grandchild. One day the umunna summoned a meeting at their village square and her husband had no option than to go for the meeting in their village. When the meeting was over, he visited his mother and as usual his mother continued with her request of grand male child. The man had to live the house in tears and got himself drunk on his way back to the city. When he entered his house drunk and late, his wife was so angry and refused to let him in. We all know that “when two elephants are fighting, the grass suffers” such was the case of Ogbenyalu the house help who was still at the kitchen alone washing beans for their tomorrow’s breakfast. The man went to the kitchen and pounced on that little helpless maid of 14years and raped her. Ogbenyaly wept out her heart and fearing her madam would skin her alive if she gets to hear that, decided to keep it a secret. Not knowing she was already pregnant Ogbenyealu continued her normal activities afterwards. Some months later, she fell very sick but her madam ignored her. Later, her school aunty noticed some changes in her and asked her some questions which made her suspected she might be pregnant. Fearing she might be tortured by her madam, went hiding to a place where she can give birth to her child. Happily enough, Ogbenyealu gave birth on the 10th of last month to bouncing twins (boys) somebody who knows her told her master of it and the man knowing he was responsible told his wife and they came to the person that harbored that young woman claiming the two boys and abandoning their mother. The person who harbored the youngest mother in the world, asked the young woman her mind, she told them that if the man wants to claim her children, he should be ready to marry her, but if the reverse is the case, they should let her go with her children so that when the children grow up they can feed her. When the case became complicated, the man accepted to marry the little orphaned house help, but his wife threaten to break out from her husband if the little girl should come in as a co-wife rather she promised to give the little woman four hundred thousand naira to pay her off so that she can leave the two boys for her and her husband. Please, friends, kindly advice the people involved on what they should do to save this complicated situation. What do you think should be the best to do in a situation like this? Allow the young woman marry the rich father of her children so that the meaning of her name would be fulfilled and she would reap the fruit of her labour? Or let her be given money by her madam in exchange of her identical handsome twin boys?
