* ~ * A Tale of Two Pin Cushions * ~ * The spotty one took a little longer. I stitched it inside out with the machine on 3 and a half edges, turned it the right way around, stuffed it, hand-stitched the hole closed with seam stitch, which Im not great at. Then hand-stitched the crochet yarn on in blanket stitch with a darning needle as the foundation for the edging. The blue one I stitched three sides on the machine, stuffed it while still on the machine, then finished the last side with the machine. I used a different stitch type that allowed me to hook the crochet directly onto that stitch, without needing to do blanket stitch with a darning needle first. Faster, but (partly due to the nature of the fabric - its more unravelly than the spotty one) not quite as neat - as you can see by the back.
