A Tale of two governments? - Dickens immortalized his work in 1859by Tale of two cities, today Pakistani politics should be remembered for Tale of two governments - PTI offers an interesting contrast of running a government in KPK and in Pakistan. Nawaz Sharif goes to Hazara and his party organizes a big jalsa without the slightest hindrance from provincial govt. When BB was PM, first time, Punjab govt had converted Murree into a parallel capital against the federal govt and Federal officers were arrested by Punjab Police. Today JUIF is blocking motorway from Peshawar and all its intersections onwards but KPK Police under PTI is not enforcing the right of passage, instead PTI is negotiating with JUIF to let them use motorways and roads which is a fundamental right of passage. In Punjab and Islamabad the opposite happens: Police puts hundreds of containers, blocks by concertina wires, arrests people, detains vehicles and frightens the population by collecting 30-40,000 ferociously armed police from Punjab and Azad Kashmir. Funny thing is my viewers from Peshawar are texting me that ARY has been off-air in many parts of Peshawar by verbal orders of Pemra. This is now really getting funny and ridiculous for KPK. Being gentleman is one thing and not being able to govern is another. Whereas PMLN and Punjab are on one extreme, KPP govt represents another kind of extreme. I hope future generations of writers and commentators will like to analyze this contrast. In present Pakistan full of munafiqat and hypocrisy and polarization this analysis may not be possible.
