A Thought To Ponder This is a universal truth: we never see the same image reflected in the mirror every day. Some days we see ourselves as looking good! and other days as how can I look so bad?. Nothing really changed, we didnt have plastic surgery during the night to erase all the wrinkles, blemishes, or sagging eyes, nor did someone attack our face with a frying pan as we slept. It all is a matter of how we see ourselves. Sometimes, and hopefully most of the time, we see a positive reflection and it makes for a positive outlook for the day. At other times stress, depression, a bad night, etc. causes us to see a negative reflection, and so goes the day. Unfortunately, for some the negative days seem to be in the majority because of an undeserved opinion of someone else. Too many see a reflection they judge as plain or ugly, and it affects their day. Well, plain or ugly are just words to describe a value judgment, and does not have any merit beyond a cultural norm. Remember the phrase, Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, well it is true. What would be plain or ugly to one person will be beautiful to another. The most important reflection we need to see of ourselves isnt from the mirror, but the reflection we see in the eyes of those who love us. So, carry this thought with you: Let me always see myself through the eyes of those who love me.
