A Tiny Botanical Wonder… If having plants in your house was a problem due to space crunch, here’s Pet Tree for you! Just as compelling as you remember Tamagotchi – highly sophisticated virtual pet, the latest fad is Pet Trees, another novelty from The Land of Bonsai, Japan. Not exactly a tree and not your average pet either, each Pet Tree is a beautiful tiny plant encased in a removable glass dome with a key ring attachment as charms dangling from cell-phones. Yes, it’s that tiny!! It’s approximately 4.2cm (H) x 2.5cm (Diameter) in dimensions. All this teeny-weeny requires, is a little TLC (Tender Loving Care). In every couple of days, you would have to place the dome in a bowl full of water and show plenty of sunshine. As every Pet Tree is a real tree, it would grow inside its durable container and would become big enough to be planted in a garden pot. This will take 3-6 months though. Every Pet Tree symbolizes a different strength and characteristic, so you can choose one to suit your mood. Each one is linked to an oriental charm. For example, from the photo above, Victo- a cactus for luck and victory and Rance – a cactus symbolizes unchanging love and embrace. Pet Trees are popular abroad and hoping that they hit the Indian market soon. A barmy idea but it’s fabulous. Thanks to the Korean inventors!
