A Tornado Watch has been issued for Lowndes, Oktibbeha, Choctaw, Winston and Noxubee counties in until 6:00pm. Here is our latest thinking related to the chance for severe storms this afternoon. #mswx This is an audio/visual discussion so I encourage you to listen for greater detail. We have trimmed the severe weather threat southward slightly, but we still expect even north of the slight risk area that a few strong storms will be possible. The primary tornado risk remains south/east of the WTVA viewing area. We do expect severe weather watches and/or warnings this afternoon so stay tuned to WTVA on-air and online for the best coverage.
