A Translation of a Message from the Commissioner: The Foundation Maggio Musicale Fiorentino ("MMF") and the Trade Unions - SLC-CGIL, FISTEL-CISL, UIL UILCOM and FIALS-CISAL - ("Trade Unions") met on July 25, 2013, to continue the analysis of possible solutions to achieve the structural savings through the reduction of labor costs for an amount of EUR 3,000,000 per year. These savings have been recognized as necessary to balance income from 2014. It should be noted that, as part of the dispute at the Maggio, recently were held the following meetings between the MMF and Trade Unions ("the Parties"): • July 12, 2013, at the conclusion of which was signed a Memorandum of meeting between MMF and the representatives of the Provincial and Territorial Organizations (SLC-CGIL, FISTEL-CISL, UIL UILCOM and FIALS-CISAL), which postponed the search for a possible point of agreement to subsequent "technical meetings"; • July 19, 2013, during which the unions and corporations made explicit their counterproposal, presenting it in three block "communicating vessels", as follows: 1 - Talks on wage 2 - Internalization and reorganization of some services 3 - Social shock absorbers The Parties were given an appointment for this morning [July 25] in order to investigate the feasibility of such a counter in order to obtain the necessary condition for economic result in structural balance for the year 2014. At [the July 25] meeting, UIL UILCOM said they believe the overall scenario on the current state of the Foundation MMF has changed, also a result of recent public statements by the Minister of Heritage and Culture and Tourism, and consequently the UILCOM UIL has been declared unavailable to continue the comparisons based on the arrangements contained in the document submitted on 19 June 2013. For its part, FIALS, considering the contents of the counter of the confederal unions as "structurally weak", has expressed its opposition to the continuation of the meeting. Now that the impossibility of continuing the discussion on the "table" has been reached, on the initiative of FISTEL and SLC-CGIL - CISL, the trade unions have asked the MMF business delegation to postpone the negotiations to a table where participation of all the signatories of 12 July 2013.
