A Tribute To Fathers Where have all the Fathers gone, Since called by God to rule o’er earth? From Adam’s day when life began And sons and daughters to bring forth. Adam and Eve, the fountain made, To lead the way it was commanded The stream of life the man the head The trees of life by God maintained. Caretaker, provider, the man to be, His role was clear, he was the leader. From the cradle to the grave, and ever he, In obedience to his God the Father. Be “fruitful and multiply” God commanded. Dominion o’er all, “replenish the earth.” An order never once countermanded. Woman alone by man gave birth. Where are the men, where are they gone? And why doth the woman now dost lead? Oftimes left alone as best she can. With so many little mouths to feed? Posterity stands in stark danger now, Howling wolves gnash at the door. Could man with man still serve somehow? Or families be destined to be no more? Men of the world, the time is calling. Stand up raise the standard high The fabric of our life, like leaves are falling. Hold your banners way up to the sky. God gave Eve to Adam for a wife, The marriage vow was fitly given, And each by each to continue life, The breath of which was made in heaven. Let the call go forth this day, today, Let the bells of God’s good order ring. Let there be no other, come what may, Than that first made by God our King. As we honor fathers, this troubled year, May we as men in Godly armor clad, Fight the good fight without earthly fear, To win the conflict for our eternal Lord. Prince John Chaber May, 15, 2013
