A Tribute To Jeff Golub At BB King’s in New York January 23, 2015 11:13 AM Jeff Golub has been a long time favorite at The WAVE in Los Angeles. He was an incredibly gifted guitarist and a good friend to many jazz lovers. He tragically lost his sight a couple of years ago and then this year he began a battle with a rare brain condition called PSP – the same condition that took the life of actor Dudley Moore. Jeff passed away over the holidays. 94.7 The Wave co-hosted a star studded tribute concert night before last at BB King’s in New York. L.A. was well represented by artists and friends of Jeff like Dave Koz, Rick Braun, Richard Elliot, Mindi Abair, Phillippe Saisse and more, along with elite New York players like Randy Brecker, Chuck Loeb, Chielli Minuscci, Bill Evans, Christopher Cross, Chuck Loeb, Friends of Jeff Golub All-Star Benefit Concert, and Kirk Whalum. Kirk Whalum kicked off the evening, Christopher Cross stopped by to do a couple of songs and Richard Gere was in the audience along with Jeff’s wife Audrey and his two sons, the loves of his life. Music directors were Chuck Loeb and Phillippe Saisse. Jeff was a one of a kind artist and we’re lucky that generations to come will continue to experience his brilliance through the recordings and performance footage he left behind.
