A Trip Off the Coast, A Trip Back in Time. So fortunate to FINALLY head out with friends for dinner at the Isleford Dock Restaurant on Little Cranberry Island off the south coast of Mount Desert Island. For visitors, this is truly a road less traveled and highly recommended. Before dinner we took a walk down the quiet lanes of the village enjoying the views of seaside houses, backyard vegetable gardens and the absolute quiet you seldom experience on the mainland. It could have been 1950. Here you see lichens growing on the side of a shingled shack, the church in Isleford, a garden whirlygig and the boat coming from Northeast Harbor to take us home after a great dinner at the Isleford Dock Restaurant. This is what summer on the coast of Maine is all about!
