A Turkish company has taken the initiative to feed the estimated 150,000 stray dogs that wander the streets in Istanbul with a machine that exchanges plastic bottles for kibble. Passersby insert their empty water bottles into the machine, which then dispenses food into a bowl for hungry strays. While it doesn’t directly help overpopulation — which can be curbed by spaying and neutering pets — it does help give strays the food they deserve. Isn’t that an awesome idea?
