A TxDOT spokesperson in Pharr said drivers are still spotted dangerously close to TxDOT crews. The agency is reminding drivers that TxDOT vehicles are covered in the state’s Slow Down, Move Over law. Drivers are required to move over a lane or drive 20 miles below the speed limit when approaching TxDOT workers or stopped TxDOT vehicles with flashing overhead lights. Violators can be fined up to $2,000.
