A VERY important message from the PWS fire dept.... I apologize for contributing to the problem by sharing this erroneous information on this page yesterday morning. .... Hi Laura, A faction of people still existing in Pinewood spread the word that we could start using the Old Stage Coach road as a means for commuting in and out of Pinewood based on Odd vs Even hours. The information is incorrect. The home owners in Spring Gulch met with us at the church this morning and were very upset that they saw this on Facebook and they were never consulted. We need to get the word out that the road is NOT to be used for commuting purposes and locks may soon be placed on the Private property gates if we start to abuse the privilege which was originally intended of allow contractors in and out. Hence forth, Pinewood Springs community members should not be planning to use that road any purpose, There are high hopes that we will have a legal means for in and out through Hwy 36 to Estes Park within several more days. Do to the misinformation we (fire dept) wwill conduct 1 last orderly exodus today at 5:00 PM to address those who came in based upon these false rumors. Afterwards the road will be closed again other than permitted use by the land owners which is for contractors and law enforcement in or out. Also, due to the lack of 911 capability here in Pinewood, I have we have rewired the old manual emergency siren at the fire station. It should be used for emergency (medical or Fire) only. The button to the left of the fire door should be pressed and held for up to 15 seconds in order to alert emergency response in the community. From there the fire department will contact Emergency dispatch to page out other fire personnel.
