A VERY interesting rumination on death and the present moment (and happiness {or a lack thereof}), told from an atheist perspective, but is in no way a screed or any other nasty thing you might (?) expect at an atheist conference - and there is a meditation exercise thrown in for good measure (atheism is neither inherently opposed to nor mutually exclusive with spirituality). For the non-religious, this will probably be a very articulate rendition of some of your intuitions. For the faithful, this can be informative about what your heretic friends really think about these profound issues. (The talk itself is about 45 minutes, the 10 or so minutes of Q&A is definitely worth your attention as well. This is a good background listen, but I strongly recommend being in an environment where you can go through the meditation exercise. At the very least, try to make an effort to come back to it later if logistics get in the way.) youtu.be/ITTxTCz4Ums
