A VIETNAM VETERANS EX-SPOUSE I married a Vietnam Vet right after he returned home in 1971. He Had Flashbacks for years. Of course I was Against the War and so was he. But he went at 17 because he came from a poor family and wanted what was promised them, education. He said it was the poor whites, and the minorities that were sent out first on point. Many nights and sometimes during the days he would go into a trance-like state, and I didnt know how to deal with that but ever so calmly Id talk to him and tell him he was okay and home now. He just lost his oldest brother from a cancer from Agent Orange. Now he is 100% disabled from Agent Orange. We were Divorced in 1981 and after all these years, Im going back to help care for him with our granddaughter that he never got to know.
