A Very Short Story About a deaf person The deaf thought to himself “ How will I hear the sick person speak with these deaf ears? I will read his lips as he speaks and try to understand what he says. When I will ask, “ O my ailing friend how are you? He will answer, “ Aim better or happy.” I will ask, “ thanks to God but tell me what have you eaten and he will say some juice or lentil.” So the deaf person came to the ailing one, touched his forehead and asked, “ How are you?” The man replied,” I am dying!” The Deaf said, “ Thanks to God.” P-124. The sick person thought that it was inappropriate for the deaf to say such a thing and it seemed to him that this person was his enemy though the poor deaf person had made a guess but it was wrong. He then asked, “ Who is your doctor?” The sick person replied “ Izraeel (the angel of death) “ So the deaf said,” Good! And you should be happy.” The deaf came out of the house happy thinking to himself that he should be grateful for having done the duty of a good neighbor.
