A WORD ABOUT THE ALS ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE: I know we have all seen it a lot, but the challenge has raised over $22 MILLION dollars: money thats used for research and to help families hit by ALS. I challenged my brother, Steve, who knows first hand what ALS can do. Steve and his family lived through ALS as it took his wife back in 2013. Steve and his family are really fun people with great attitudes, but watching their wife/mother progress through the stages of ALS and trying to care for her... it shook their family to the core. The disease systematically shuts the nervous system of healthy, active people and leaves them unable to do anything for themselves. It affects the entire family as they try to care for their loved one. The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge started out to simulate the shock to the nervous system that people afflicted by ALS feel EVERY DAY. I know that helping others doesnt need to be broadcast, but if we do great things working together, then Im on board. -- Doni
