A Walk Among The Tombstones (2014). DVD viewing. Liam Neeson starred in this movie whilst the world was waiting for Taken 3. Well, in fairness, Im not sure anyone was desperate for him to make Taken 3, but that turned out to be pretty decent in the end. This is a gritty, sweary, rather enjoyable crime movie which stars an on-form Neeson as Matt Scudder, an ex-NYPD cop who now works as a private eye on the periphery of the law. Hes asked to help catch the men who killed a heroin traffickers wife, and through a bit of detective work, learns that hes after a couple of extremely dangerous serial killers. There seem to be a lot of sub-plots going on during this film ; some of them add to the movie, but others simply make it sag a little in the middle, like a pudding which contains a few too many ingredients. It could also be argued that the films a little predictable in places, and there are a few too many badly drawn characters. Theres quite a bit to commend, though. Some enjoyable action sequences, and a good performance from Neeson, who its hard to believe is in his sixties. A 6.5/10 from me.
