A Well-Fed World is proud to be supporting the incredibly inspiring outreach efforts of Australian James Aspey, who took a vow of complete silence for one year as a way to raise awareness for the silenced victims of our food choices. On January 13th, when his year of silence was up, he said, We all say we love animals, and we all are against animal cruelty, but we pay people to mutilate, torture and slaughter animals. And its not for any necessity. Its not because we need to for our health. Its just because we like the way they taste. So I went voiceless because theyre voiceless— I *thought.* But then I realized that theyre not actually voiceless. They cry in pain, they scream in terror, and when they do that, theyre using their voices to tell us that theyre suffering. The problem is, were not listening.
