A Wise Mama asks: VBAC Question for Wise Mamas: My 20 month old son was born by c-section almost two years ago, and Id like to have a VBAC with my next baby. The nearby birthing center with midwives (located within a hospital) requires continuous monitoring for VBACs making water birthing impossible for me, so I am considering a home water birth. I have several friends who have ruptured their uterus (both VBAC and not) during birth and almost lost their lives/ child and are only alive because they were in a hospital already. I am terrified of this risk and other risks with a VBAC, and thinking of doing it 15 minutes away from the closest hospital is scary for me. I am interested in anything that you mamas think will help me make a decision. Is a VBAC home birth safe, or much more risky than a VBAC in a hospital setting? #WiseMamaQuestion
