A Wonderful New Beginning For a Shelter Dog..... Good Morning I was going to post this last night but I was too tired from the previous night of worrying about Boscoe.... Here is a blog posted on Amarillo Globe News about this amazing dog and the plight to save his life...... A Dog Named Boscoe Submitted by Vince Nowak on Fri, 07/25/2014 - 10:36pm This is a very short blog, but I would be remiss if I did not post it. Long story short, an owner surrendered a lab pup to the animal shelter and checked a box on the form indicating the owner’s desire to have the dog euthanized. Judi Glidewell, of Critter Camp fame, got involved in an effort to not only save the dog, but to also change the form that apparently gives a surrendering owner the option to condemn an otherwise healthy and adoptable pet to death. Kudos to Judi for highlighting not only the circumstances of this particular dog, but also for marshalling her formidable following to work together to change this policy. Many thanks are due to many, but I want to specifically commend Mayor Harpole and Scott McDonald who took immediate action, literally overnight, to save this puppy and put in motion new policies to avoid this situation in the future. It is my understanding that surrendering owners will no longer have any say in the fate of healthy, adoptable animals. When I say overnight, I mean they took action between the hours of Thursday 8:30 p.m. and Friday 6:00 a.m. That type of response is proof positive that Paul and Scott are listening and they care. Thanks guys, and thanks to your staffs who worked behind the scene on this very important matter. Have a safe weekend. I know Boscoe will.
