A Wooden Speaker That Transforms Your Glasses Into Equalizers Designed by New Zealand-based design student Casey Lin, the ‘Timbre Speaker’ is a playful wooden speaker that allows the use of glasses, or any other kind of vessel, as physical equalizers. Through surface transducers mounted in the wooden box, the surface is vibrated, turning it into a speaker. These vibrations are transferred through the wood into the glasses, changing the timbre of the sound. It may not be the most accurate or precise way to control your sound but the ‘Timbre Speaker’ is fun concept that encourages experimentation and a more interactive experience.
