A Yellow warning of Ice & Low Temperatures has been issued for Northern Ireland. As temperatures drop very low tonight (Possibly to -11 in some areas) frost and ice is likely to form on untreated roads and footpaths. Mist and fog may also develop in some places, that combined with ice will make for some hazardous driving conditions overnight and tomorrow morning. The public are advised to take extra care. A Early Yellow warning has been issued for Northern Ireland. Later on Monday a weather front is to move across NI continuing into Tuesday, this is likely to fall as rain or sleet around the coasts but as it moves inland it is likely to turn readily to snow, leading to accumulations of up to 10 cm or possibly more locally and over the hills. At this stage there is still some uncertainty as to which places will get a mix of rain/sleet and sleet/snow as well as where the heaviest of the snow will be as the weather models chop and change so the warning will be subject to changes. We recommend you keep up to date with weather forecasts and warnings especially if you are planning to travel Late Monday and Tuesday. Further snowfall is likely later in the week, separate warnings may be issued for this.
