A-Z OF LIVING A MEANINGFUL LIFE Xenodochial I must admit I - TopicsExpress

A-Z OF LIVING A MEANINGFUL LIFE Xenodochial I must admit I had to do some research to come up with an ‘x’ word for this A-Z list and after some time searching a few different websites I came across this word and thought it was perfect! Have you heard of it? Xenodochial means to be friendly to strangers, hospitable, and can refer to people, places or even software. We’ve touched on some similar topics in a couple of the other words in the A-Z list, such as friendship, kindness and unity so I won’t go into great detail here. In each of those topics though, I talked not only about extending those things to others but about the importance of giving and demonstrating them to ourselves. It’s the same with being xenodochial. Absolutely be friendly and hospitable to strangers but practice it within yourself first and foremost because the better you are at doing this for yourself, the better you’ll be at doing it for others. If you are a giving person and find it easier to give to others or just struggle to be friendly to yourself, get a pen and paper and write a list of all the ways you could be friendly to a stranger. You can then use that list to not only practice being friendly to others but to practice being friendly to yourself too. What you wrote down that you could do for others, you can practice doing for yourself. So choose one of the things on the list and do it today! ♡
