A balanced variety of food is good for your oral and overall health. When you eat cheese, for example, you can slow the cavity-making process. Mushrooms are loaded with nutrients that keep your immune system healthy and are the only natural fresh vegetable or fruit with vitamin D. This Mushroom Council recipe creates a winning combination. 10-16 oz Italian bread shell 8 oz white button mushrooms, sliced & divided into 2 equal portions 1 cup shredded fontina or mozzarella cheese 1/2 cup thinly sliced green bell pepper 1/4 cup drained and chopped oil-packed sundried tomatoes 1/3 cup thinly sliced sweet onion 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese > Preheat oven to 420°F. Place bread shell on a 12-inch pizza pan. Arrange half of the mushrooms in a single layer and sprinkle with fontina. Top with green pepper, tomatoes, onion, and remaining mushrooms. Sprinkle with Parmesan. Bake until hot and cheese is melted – about 10 minutes. © Patient News
