A basic principle of feminism seeks for women and girls to be recognized as and treated as human. You are welcome to disagree with certain values and approaches of feminists of sects of feminists. But I submit, if you disagree or denounce that core tenet of feminism, I am left to believe that you may just be a knowing or unknowing misogynist, or at the very least knowingly or unknowingly uphold the most dangerous principles of male privilege. I cannot apologize, because there are far too many men and women who truly believe that women are inferior to men and capitalize on that belief to actively oppress women and girls. Just as any other major movement, feminism has its mountains and molehills. But the enduring principle remains in tact. In 2013, we are still fighting for the rights of freedom, choice and autonomy. We have much work to do.
