A beautiful and fitting tribute today as we all bid farewell to everyones best friend, Kelly Bavich. Many wonderful memories shared by all who spoke including Kels Dad, daughter Stevie, who is clearly a chip off the old block and who I thought was monumentally awesome today, the sister-girls from Vamp who we all adore, Mal from Hells Bells who did a sterling job and Kels other family band mate, Mick from WAITING 4 ANDY who I think I will rename Reverend Mick from now on - so eloquent. While there were many special moments through the laughter, tears and aching hearts, the one moment that really bought it home for me was the Standing O.V. Mick encouraged everyone to be a part of. In a heartbeat, everyone stood and lifted the roof with applause for Kellys final curtain call. It was magnificent. What a fabulous salute to a beautiful and loved woman who, as has been said before, represented the best of us. We will do as she said and build that bridge, but just for today Im going to reflect on all of the goodness, love, joy and inspiration Kel bought to our world this time around and if we can take anything from anything, its to be good and kind to each other, to love one another with as much understanding and compassion as we can, to leave the world a better place for having been in it. Kelly - what a legacy. Im proud to have been able to call you friend. Like so many others you touched, your memory will live in my heart forever. Thank you, angel. Fly.
