A beautiful summer day stained with the blood of a mother Vervet monkey and her baby, massacred on a suburban road in Kloof. This mom and baby should have been able to cross the road safely but both now lie dead at the side of the road, 4m apart. We dont know who died first mom or baby, the chances are that mom was hit first and the baby killed by a second car when she came back to see why mom was lying still on the road. Now all that remains to mark the tragedy are two patches of blood on the road surface, drying in the harsh sun.
