A big thank you to QERA for the beautiful wool rug Nessie was awarded with last night at the presentations. This was awarded for 100% completion of 1500 km. Horses have to complete at least 240 km each year in Qld rides to be eligible for this award. From 2011 - 2014 Nessie clocked up 1741 km with no vet outs and 1 withdrawal to earn her lovely warm rug. In 2010 the bulk of Nessies km came from Shahzada, a NSW ride, so her km prior to that dont count towards this award but from 2006-2010 Nessie completed another 1825 km with no vet outs and 1 withdrawal, for a total of 3566 km with no vet outs. Very proud of my special pony. Sadly she probably wont add any more to this total. No more marathons for Miss Nessie and probably no more rides. Its time for the youngster to take up the reins. Still a great innings for a fabulous 20 year old who is still beautifully sound and looks like a 12 year old.
