A big thank you to everyone who was a our base last night, helping us unpack and sort donations and getting everything ready for our Christmas party tomorrow night. We had a load of helpers join us and together they worked their way through most of the pile of donations which was mounting up by the day. Thank you so much to you all!! The Summer Madness lot were with us again and once again they were a godsend, moving boxes, sorting through clothes and really helping us to get things organised. Thank you to Marsha and the lads, you have all been a blessing the last few weeks and we would have been lost without you! I also want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated shoeboxes, gift sets, Christmas food, napkins, crackers, paper plates, tea, coffee, selection boxes, advent calendars, table cloths, Christmas decorations and all of the other wonderful things which have enabled us to get everything we need to ensure our friends have a memorable Christmas. The response we have had over the festive period has been amazing. We have been able to ensure that everyone at our party tomorrow night goes away with a gift, as well as being treated to a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings as well as a beautiful cake, kindly donated by everyone at Beacon Hill School. We have hampers for our free tombola, a karaoke machine, we will be playing games, there will be a band and we will all be singing Christmas carols, it looks set to be a fabulous night and we could not have even dreamed of doing this without all of the help from our fantastic group members. We have a few last minute requests which are needed for tomorrow night. If anyone has a folding table, which we could borrow for the night, and also a karaoke CD, please could you comment below so we could arrange to get it in time for our party tomorrow. Yesterday we delivered another load of Christmas gifts and food, to the grandmother I have told you all about, who was worried about how she would provide for her grandkids this Christmas. She was over the moon with what we gave her, and will now be able to relax and enjoy the build up to Christmas with her family. We also gave a load of toys and kids shoeboxes to a local school, to be given to families who are struggling this year, which were all very much appreciated. We have also packed up a load of womens clothes and food parcels, ready to go to a local drop in center so they have stock there for when people come in needing help. These will be delivered early next week, in preparation for the cold weather and Christmas. Thank you to everyone who has enabled us to help all of these people!! We have also had an influx if cash donations, as many people have decided instead of buying Christmas cards for their friends and family, they would like to donate the money they would spend, to us, so we can continue doing the good work we do. Thank you to everyone who has donated cash to us and a special thank you to Total Labelling Solutions, who gave us a cheque for £250 last night. We have also been given a cheque for £1000 today, from an extremely kind business man who last week also donated 80 brand new fleece jackets, to be handed out as gifts to people. This will all go a long way towards feeding and clothing people each week. Thank you all so much, to everyone who has donated money to our cause, even the smallest amount makes a big difference. #teamMWW are out tonight doing their walk about, armed with rucksacks, food and other goodies for those facing the night on the streets. Good luck to them and of course to the friends, new and old, that they will meet tonight. #OpSafeWinter
