A big thank you to the people of Camelon. I had occasion to take my registered blind father (who is in a wheelchair) to the local optician today Four Eyes in the main street.. His glasses were mangled in the washing machine ( blind in one eye, no peripheral vision but around 2% bit of tunnel vision in the other) Firstly there are major works on the footpath but as I struggled up and down the ramps everyone that passed offered and did help. When I arrived at the shop the girl at the desk jumped up as I could not get the chair over the threshold steps. The lollipop man and 2 others passers by helped by holding the door helping with dad and as the office girl helped me to get him through the door the other person folded the wheelchair and brought it into the shop then parked it neatly in the corner. After thanking them we waited to be seen. When the optician realised the extent of dads blindness while examining his eyes and after we choose 2 pairs of glasses( to help him see a little bit ) he told me that he was going to take the frames to Grangemouth himself after we left, have them made up and would personally take them to him at Dorrator Court tonight and fit them on him. Bear in mind this was about 3.30pm this afternoon by this time. This is above and beyond helpful. Well done to all and it fairly restored both Dad and myselfs faith in mankind. Thanks again to everyone it made Dads day and mine. x
