A bill authorizing intelligence agencies to collect and retain the private communications of any individual, U.S. citizens included was passed by the Senate this week. The bill is HR 4681, the section of concern is 309. Section 309, among others is a recent addition so itll be going back to the House for review. I recognize that the United States security state is already performing the pervasive collection and retention of massive bulks of peoples private information and has been doing so for years, but making this properly legal is only going to make it worse. I refuse to let it go idly by. Also the media has, by and large been completely useless on this. Im getting really tired of that.
