A bit late, but a good story from a recent email: ================================== Today, D Day, I had the unique opportunity today to lunch with two special forces members and one of the original members of all special forces, Major General John Singlaub who has agreed to meet with 912 and speak to us about some of his experiences, what he has seen when he fought the communists in Manchuria in the 40s, the Vietnamese in the 60s & 70s as well as the Nazis when on D Day he, a British SAS and a Frenchie Frenchman had parachuted behind enemy lines to stop the Germans from advancing towards Normandy from the south. Following WW II, General Singlaub had been an active leader in the OSS and he is a founder of what is our CIA. Singlaub has an incredible history worthy of research. The only blemish that Ive been able to find was when he was removed as Chief of Staff of American forces in South Korea by that ever-successful Commander in chief, Jimmy Carter, when Singlaub criticized Carter for removing forces from the peninsula. This happened at the same time that Carter had privately announced his intent to give away the Panama Canal and twenty months before Carters disastrous Eagle Claw operation which cost 8 American lives and left five abandoned, operational helicopters for the Iranians in their desert. Because Singlaub had managed the secret war along the Ho-Chi-Minh trail, he had been invested in American success in Viet Nam which, as we all know, had been directly supervised by LBJ rather than Singlaub or someone like him. The result was the embarrassing departure ten years before Eagle Claw of American troops from South Viet Nam. (LBJ, when directly supervising the war had spelled out in unambiguous terms what the military would not do, contrary to proper military strategy of allowing the enemy to fear any weapon or tactic during war. LBJ publicly vowed to never use the A-bomb, nor would he mine Haiphong Harbor.) There is no doubt about Singlaubs devotion to the America we knew as we grew up ourselves in the 60s and 70s. He emphasized the contempt that all military will now feel for our Islamist President for trading the UBL Board of Directors for an American traitor, Bergdahl. Every American has now become a potential hostage. The American foreign policy and standing today isnt as good as it was during Carters presidency. Is that possible? General S quickly agreed that Obama is culling out the good military men, leaving in their place those who hold few principles and who will do whatever bidding for Obama they are asked because they recognize their job security comes from their willingness to do what the other honorable officers would refuse. A trap had been set for Petraeus for some time and it was just a matter of timing until the information that had been gathered on Petraeus was to be utilized. He said that Petraeus, despite his poor judgment with an attractive woman, is a smart, gifted and well-liked leader. No doubt that Petraeus was a targeted leader and this is consistent with the media attack upon Petraeus (Be tray us) when he came to report to Bush. I was always surprised when he was welcomed into Obamas council when everyone knew that Petraeus and the lefts views were sizably different. Now it all makes sense. They needed for him to enjoy the appearance of their approval in order to express their disappointment and surprise at his fall, taking out the single greatest military threat to their unconventional and dishonest adventurism. Who could possibly consider Obama had done in Petraeus when Obama had taken him into his inner circle? Everyone at the table agreed that Marcus Luttrell is highly respected by those in special forces and these same men happened to smile and say that they certainly do know who is that wild and crazy guy, Glenn Beck and they do watch him. His wife, pregnant with their first child, was stationed with him in Manchuria and when they were fighting the communists, the bombs kept flying over them exploding, making it hard for her to sleep so he managed to get her to a troop ship to get her back to safety in Hawaii. The whole family was on the front for all of us. If you research Major General Singlaub, youll discover that he had a friendship with Atlanta Democrat Congressman Larry McDonald whose conservatism by many groups is ranked second only to Ron Paul. With the dissolution of the House un-American Activities Commission, they formed a secondary group to continue to look into the efforts of the soviets and communists to enter, then influence our government and culture. You may recall that the soviets accidentally shot down Korean Air Lines commercial flight 007 in 1983, when McDonald was a passenger. If you read about McDonald, youll wish all Republicans were like this Democrat. MG Singlaub, near the beginning of our meeting, did tell me that he had been in touch today with some of his friends in DC and they had given him some good news. He had been told that Hillary is preparing to announce that she would not be running for President in 2016 after all, because when performing a colonoscopy on her they had discovered that she has a brain tumor. Date to be announced soon that we might all get a chance to hear this incredibly wonderful American hero. Lee PS Send this link to your Viet Nam vet friends moments.org/thank-you-for-your-service/
