A bit of a #SeniorBowl #NFLDraft rant here.. been amused by all the talk about Danny Shelton (DT, Wash) being this years Aaron Donald.... but hes almost the anti-Aaron Donald.. Donald is an undersized, compact, quick twitch, active-handed, gap-penetrating DT, while Shelton is just a massive 2-gap space-eater and pocket pusher with short arms and limited hand action/disengage/pass rush moves.. thats not really en vogue in the NFL right now.. hes not.... not not not not NOT!!! Haloti Ngata.. think more like BJ Raji.. that is not bad, I personally do like to be able to control the line of scrimmage and stop the run, but lets call a spade a spade and not a diamond.. also of note, 37 of his 93 tackles this year (40%), 9.5 of his 16.5 TFL (58%) and 7 of his 9 sacks (78%) came in 3 of his 14 games this year (21%) against Hawaii (12 tackles, 3 TFL, and 2 sacks), Eastern Washington (12 - 4.5 - 4), and Georgia State (13 - 2 - 1).. so he had 56 tackles, 7 TFL, and 2 sacks in his other 11 games, combined, against real(er) opponents.. lastly, consider that none of the interior OL that hes facing this week are graded anywhere near as high as he is, so he should be beating them around.. and some of them are still holding their own.. hes a good prospect and will almost certainly go in the 1st round, just please dont get your expectations too high
