A bit of advice to up-and-coming producers sending out your demos - TopicsExpress

A bit of advice to up-and-coming producers sending out your demos of your productions (maybe for the first time). When sending out your music to DJs/producers, dont forget to put your actual production name at the start of the title so that we know who has sent and made the track. I know this may sound pretty self explanatory but you would be amazed at how many tracks I get sent that have no artist name at the beginning of them, making it very difficult for me to get in touch with you if I like your music. Also, if you choose to send a DJ/producer music and it is your own personal choice to do so, please remember just that - its you choice. Artists that are in the scene are often very busy guys and they are artists too, working on their own music/projects. Their sole purpose is not to just listen to your music. If you send music without being prompted by the artist youre sending to, be patient and wait to hear back from them in their time. Every artist wants to be heard, but dont pester them saying things like have you listened to it yet? Of course, every artist wants feedback (me included) but again remember, it was your choice to send the music over. Finally, and again its just in my experience, if youre sending music to someone for the first time and you want to be taken seriously, instead of sending over 10 or 15 tracks that youve made over time, just send what you believe are the best two or three to begin with and see what happens. If you get a response from that, the person is highly likely to say have you got any more music I could check out and then you can continue to send some more of your material over for them to listen to. As the saying goes less is often more. Heist-advice
