A bit of good news!! My stolen Surly is at Uncle Sams on Main and 5th! Recently I reposted my stolen bike on Craigslist. Someone bought it from the pawn shop today and then saw the ad on Craigslist and decided to return it. Uncle Sams then found my ad and emailed me. Apparently when they wrote down the pawn ticket they left off the last 2 digits (??????) So the fact that I posted it again and that a really good bike citizen (or someone who just didnt want stolen goods to bite them in the butt) brought it back and told the pawn shop about it gets me my beloved bike back. The weird part--they paid the person who hocked it a mere $80 and they want me to pay them that to get it back...seems pretty unfair/their own fault, is that even legal? I guess thats nothing compared to its value to me but still...
