A bit of my newspaper column this week. (How many times have you seen a show being hosted by professional archaeologist for public view? I cant think of one instance. Collectors on the other hand, host many public shows, provide displays for museums, libraries, and do programs for all groups that show an interest. For the ethical collector of Native American artifacts, its not a business, its not about money. Its all about preserving, learning and sharing with others. Yes folks, American collectors are getting a bad rap and they certainly do not deserve it. Sure, theres some unethical folks hunting for artifacts, but please dont include em in with the likes of me. It would be like finding one bad apple in a basket, and saying all of em are bad.)
