A bit of sad news this morning folks, things are somewhat worse than even I had predicted, The clouds are solidifying over our collective heads, and the proverbial ax just might be undergoing a honing in anticipation of that proverbial fall. In retrospect, not all was bad news yesterday, to wit ; the chocolate/peanut butter/marshmallow cream pie was deliriously delicious, as were the Italian hoagies, pepperoni pizza and hot sausage/peppers and onions. Sort of like a last request before the execution except for the fact that this was enjoyed DURING the execution. NO, Im not referring to the news of Benjamin Netanyahu, as he sat on the sidelines while the powers that be came to a reasonable accord regarding Iran and its quest to improve its nuclear capabilities, nor am I referring to the warnings to North Korea issued by the Chinese government to cool it . Thats two strikes against you if you guessed both. Ok, Ill end the suspense ....I am referring back to my favorite Saturday afternoon pastime, NCAA COLLEGE FOOTBALL. Mississippi State Bulldogs, 24......university of Arkansas 17.....final score, as the ax is honed and is dropping a few more inches closer over the neck of coach Bret Bellima. Oh, yes, things are a bit worse than originally predicted on the gridiron for the U of A....yesterday the U of A set re4cords....none of which bode well for Bret. eight consecutive losses, first time in the history of college football being played by the U of A to go winless in their own conference, or lose 8 games in one season. One more embarrassing first to add to the list....first time in the history of competition between these two schools that Ms. State Bulldogs came out of their visit to Arkansas with a win. Aah, but take heart, the records set yesterday by the U of A will most likely be short lived. as in the final game of 2013 the U of A razorback hogs have a date to meet the Tigers of LSU, down in Baton Rouge LA. Yes, those same tigers who yesterday made the Aggies of Texas A & M look completely inept, along with last years Heisman Trophy winner John ( Johnny football ) Manziel. as the saying goes.... Records, in sports, are made to be broken, right ? But this record will be broken in warp speed... On Friday, Nov. 29,after six short days the new record for the U of A will most likely be 9 in a row......perhaps some BBQ beef brisket sandwiches with a side of slaw will help ease me through the day.....e Friday Nov. 29th.
